Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society

The Society was founded in 1870 (first inaugural lecture November 10th of that year) and was affiliated to the Birmingham and Midland Institute. It later became the Birmingham Archaeological Society but with the publication of its centenary volume No. 84 (1967-70) it became known as the Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society.

How to Join Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society

Application for membership, including a sterling cheque or money order for the appropriate rate, should be mailed to the Membership Secretary, Dr Peter King, Birmingham and Midland Institute, 3 Margaret Street, Birmingham B3 3BS.

Members receive the Transactions, the newsletters of the Society and get discounted rates for attendance at Society events and excursions.

Annual subscription rates are:
Ordinary Member £15;

Additional Family Member (resident with an ordinary member) £2 per person;
Associate Member (under 18 and not entitled to receive the Transactions) £5.00;
Institutional Member £20.00 (whether in Britain or overseas).

 

Members of BWAS and SAG (Solihull Archaeological Society) are entitled to attend each other’s meetings as affiliated societies.
